How Pasture & Paws Local Delivery Works

How Pasture & Paws Local Delivery Works

Fresh food works a little differently when it stays local.

As we prepare to launch the Pasture & Paws online store, here's how local delivery will work.

We'll prepare orders around a weekly rhythm rather than sending boxes through a national parcel network. Where you live will determine your delivery day, and when you order will determine which week's route your food joins.

Here is everything you need to know about the delivery model we're preparing to launch.

First, check your delivery area

Our planned local delivery routes cover the areas below, from Salem through the Portland area.

Your delivery day will be based on your location.

Monday

West Salem, Salem, Keizer, Turner, Sublimity, Stayton and Aumsville.

Tuesday

Woodburn, Canby, Aurora, Hubbard, Portland, Beaverton, Hillsboro, Tigard, Tualatin, Sherwood, Forest Grove, Cornelius, King City, Durham, Aloha, Cedar Hills, Metzger, Raleigh Hills, Garden Home, Lake Oswego, Oregon City, Milwaukie, Gladstone, Happy Valley, West Linn and Rivergrove.

Thursday

Wilsonville and Newberg.

Once your address is matched to an area, your route day will stay the same. A Salem delivery will be Monday. A Portland delivery will be Tuesday. A Wilsonville delivery will be Thursday.

You won't need to choose a delivery weekday yourself.

Order by Wednesday night for the following week

Our weekly order cutoff will be Wednesday at 11:59pm Pacific Time.

Orders placed by the cutoff will be prepared for your route day the following week.

For example:

  • Order in Salem by Wednesday night → delivery the following Monday
  • Order in Portland by Wednesday night → delivery the following Tuesday
  • Order in Wilsonville by Wednesday night → delivery the following Thursday

Orders placed after Wednesday at 11:59pm Pacific will be scheduled for the week after next, on your area's route day.

For example, a Salem order placed Thursday through Sunday will miss the coming Monday and be scheduled for the Monday after that. A Wilsonville order placed by Wednesday's cutoff will be scheduled for Thursday of the following week, not the very next day.

The cutoff gives us time to source, cook and pack orders before their delivery week begins.

Subscribing? Local delivery will be free

Subscription orders will include free local delivery.

There will be no minimum order amount for a subscription.

You'll be able to choose:

  • Weekly delivery
  • Delivery every 2 weeks

Your frequency will change how often you receive an order, not your route day.

So if you live in Salem and choose weekly delivery, your order will follow the Monday route each week. If you choose every two weeks, it will follow the Monday route every other week.

The same logic will apply to every delivery area.

Your first subscription delivery will follow the same Wednesday cutoff.

Ordering just once?

One-time orders will be available too.

For local delivery, a one-time order will need a minimum product subtotal of $50.

Once your products reach $50, a flat $9 local delivery fee will be added.

The $50 minimum will be calculated before delivery fees and tax.

For example:

$49 of food

Does not qualify for one-time local delivery.

$50 of food

Qualifies for local delivery, then the $9 delivery fee is added.

Subscriptions will not have this minimum and will receive free local delivery.

What if you're outside our regular delivery area?

We may still be able to help.

If your address is not in one of the areas listed above, contact us before placing your order. We'll confirm whether we can reach you.

At launch, Pasture & Paws will offer local delivery only, with no national, international or standard parcel shipping.

Why we use a weekly cutoff

Fresh food has to fit the way we actually prepare it.

Once the week's orders are in, we need time to source, cook and pack them before the next delivery routes begin.

That is why the cutoff will be Wednesday night rather than the day before your route.

It gives us one clear preparation cycle while giving you a predictable delivery day based on where you live.

Your route and your order work together

Once you know your area, the rest is simple.

Your address will determine which day we come to you.

Your purchase choice will determine how delivery is priced.

Your subscription frequency will determine how often you receive it.

And the Wednesday cutoff will determine which weekly cycle your order joins.
